5 Ways to Generate Leads Online for Real Estate Agents

Recently, RESAAS blog published a helpful article for new real estate agents entitled “Tips for New Real Estate Agents: 5 Ways to Generate Leads Online.” Since there are limited resources available to help new real estate agents learn about online marketing, we decided that it would be appropriate to respond to the blog post.

Here are our thoughts on the tips presented:

When it comes to generating leads online often new agents are unsure where to start. It would be great if all brokerages really mentored their agents, but often they are left to their own devices.

Before you start any marketing program, you have to determine your audience so you can address them and their needs properly. One great tool to use is the DISC assessment which identifies personality types by what their primary personality trait is.

Dominant personality types might be quicker to make decisions and would like to see as many properties as possible to make the process quicker. A Compliance personality is someone who typically works in a science or finance type profession and numbers and data are what they need to make decisions.

Age also plays a part of how buyers will reach out to you for help. Seniors tend to be less technologically savvy and would more likely pick up the phone to reach you. Millennials, on the other hand, are comfortable with technology and could reach out to you via social media or a mobile app.

Regardless of who your audience is, it’s important to do market research and get solid data about your potential audience. Once you identify your prospects, then test out different strategies until you find one that works.
