Where to Find Content for Your Ebook

Now that you know how to use ebooks to promote your business, make money with your ebooks, and how to use templates to create ebooks, it is time to talk about what is going into your ebook.

First using other people’s words, also known as plagiarism. Unless you have specific rights to publish and sell the content, do not do so. Doing so can bring up hefty court charges if you infringe upon the rights of others. Simply stated, you can only publish content that you either created yourself or have publishing rights to.

An internet search can give you a list of sites into which you can copy and paste your text. These special search engines will then check your text against a data base of published work to ensure that your content is truly your own.

There are a few ways to get content for your ebook. The first and most personal way is simply to write it yourself. You can turn any of your writings into an ebook. This includes your blogs and articles that you write for your business. On the other hand, you may choose to write the whole thing from scratch.

Never underestimate your experience in your field of business as content for an ebook. You may think that your job is boring and does not have anything to offer the public in form of an ebook. However, you can relate your skills to things which are familiar to people.

For example, you might think that your job as a janitor at the local YMCA does not have value in an ebook. However, you use organizational skills every single day to keep on task and you pay attention to detail. Instead of writing an ebook about how to sweep a floor, you could write a book about how organization is important to keeping your home clean and tidy.

Figure out how your technical and specific skills relate to a broader audience.

The next way to get content for your book may be to hire someone to write it for you. In this case, you would hire someone who has knowledge in your field to become a ghostwriter for your ebook.

A ghostwriter is someone, usually a freelance writer, who writes content to be published by a third party. They give up their rights to the content that they have written, usually for a specified amount of money. The fee might be a set fee for the completed project or an establish amount per word written. Either way, when they complete the ebook it becomes your property just as if you have written it yourself.

The most important thing to consider when writing an ebook is that whether you write it yourself or hire someone else to do it for you, it should be something about which you are passionate. You do not want to have a book on your hands that holds no interest for you whatsoever.
