Most businesses today are on Twitter for multiple reasons.

Twitter is yet another way to reach a mass audience. It helps businesses establish their names among other industry leaders and acts as a great and free promotional tool.

If you’re a business owner and you’re not on Twitter, then you risk falling behind your competitors.

Why Twitter is Hot

Right now, having your business on Twitter is “in.” All the major corporations and even most small businesses are doing it, just ask big companies like Dell and AT&T.

Becoming a part of Twitter doesn’t mean your business is a “follower” it means you’re with the game when it comes to social media, which by the way is a hot commodity for business now a days.

Keeping current with social media means more than having a website or simple blog for your business.

With Twitter your business can instantly update its customers and a potential market with breaking news, promotions, upcoming special events, new products, special deals, and more.

Network

Twitter also lets you network with new people you never would have reached before including people in different states, across the country, or around the world. Besides gaining new customers, Twitter can lead to new business partners, employees, contacts, and leads.

Customer Service With Twitter

Twitter provides a place for customers to give your business feedback. Here they’ll let you know what they like about your business and what needs improvement.

It’s also a great place for them to tell what their favorite and must have products are so you can make sure to keep plenty of them in stock or implement a new business plan to satisfy a larger market and ultimately increase profits.

You can even search Twitter to hear what people are saying and to keep tabs on the competition. Find out who’s talking about your business and refine your marketing to attract those that aren’t.

  1. I agree that businesses that are afraid of using social media for whatever reason definitely do not have an excuse anymore.

These are great places to network and make invaluable business contacts.

Also, as social media continues to go mobile, it’s nice to see there are new tools and platforms being designed to help businesses keep up with demand.
